When you place an order, Micasa processes the information necessary to confirm the order, receive or verify payment, prepare the products, arrange delivery or pickup, provide order updates, and handle customer service.
Payments may be processed through third-party payment service providers, including PayDunya, depending on the payment methods available at the time of purchase.
Payment service providers process payment information under their own security and privacy practices. Micasa receives only the information required to identify and confirm the transaction, such as payment status and transaction references, where applicable.
6. Delivery Services
To deliver your order, we may share the information necessary for delivery with our delivery personnel or authorized logistics partners.
This may include your name, telephone number, delivery address, order reference, delivery instructions, and information necessary to complete the delivery.
Micasa may use external logistics providers, including Paps, where applicable, to manage or fulfil deliveries.
Delivery partners receive only information reasonably necessary to perform the requested delivery service.
7. SMS and Service Communications
Micasa may use SMS and telecommunications services, including services provided through Orange Senegal, to send authentication codes, account verification messages, order notifications, delivery updates, and other service-related communications.
Your telephone number may therefore be transmitted to the relevant telecommunications or messaging provider solely as necessary to deliver these communications.
8. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The Micasa website uses cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to operate the online store and provide features such as customer login, shopping carts, checkout sessions, language preferences, security, and website functionality.
We may also use cookies or similar technologies to understand how our services are used and to improve website performance and customer experience.
You may control certain cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may prevent some parts of the website from working correctly.
Our mobile applications may similarly use local device storage or comparable technologies where required to maintain login sessions, application preferences, security, and application functionality.
9. How We Share Personal Information
Micasa does not sell personal information.
We may disclose personal information only when reasonably necessary to operate our services.
Information may be shared with payment processors, delivery and logistics providers, SMS and communications providers, website and application hosting providers, cloud and infrastructure providers, technical service providers, professional advisers, or government and regulatory authorities when required by applicable law.
Third-party service providers are expected to process information only for the services they provide to Micasa and in accordance with applicable data-protection requirements.
We may also disclose information when necessary to investigate fraud, security incidents, illegal activity, violations of our terms, or situations involving the protection of Micasa, our customers, or other persons.
10. International Data Processing
Some technology, payment, hosting, communication, or other service providers used by Micasa may operate or process information outside Senegal.
Where personal information is transferred or processed internationally, we take reasonable steps to use service providers and safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information and the requirements of applicable data-protection law.
11. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected or as required by applicable law.
Account information is generally retained while an account remains active.
Order, payment, invoice, and transaction records may be retained for longer periods when required for accounting, taxation, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, warranty, regulatory, or legal purposes.
When information is no longer required, it may be deleted, anonymized, or securely archived in accordance with applicable legal and operational requirements.
12. Data Security
Micasa takes reasonable administrative, organizational, and technical measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, misuse, loss, or destruction.
These measures may include access controls, secure communications, authentication systems, server security, monitoring, backups, and restrictions on access to customer information.
However, no website, mobile application, electronic transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Customers should also protect their account credentials and immediately contact Micasa if they suspect unauthorized access to their account.
13. Your Privacy Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to request information about the personal data Micasa holds about you, obtain access to that information, request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information, object to certain processing, withdraw consent where processing depends on consent, or request deletion of personal information where applicable.
Certain information may need to be retained even after a deletion request when retention is required by law or is necessary for legitimate purposes such as transaction records, accounting obligations, fraud prevention, disputes, or the establishment or defense of legal claims.
Privacy requests may be submitted to info@micasameubles.com.
We may need to verify your identity before completing a request in order to prevent unauthorized access to personal information.
Customers in Senegal may also exercise their rights under Law No. 2008-12 of 25 January 2008 on the Protection of Personal Data and may contact the Commission de Protection des Données Personnelles (CDP) regarding the protection of their personal data.
14. Account Deletion
Customers may request deletion of their Micasa account through the account-deletion functionality available in the Micasa application, where available, or by contacting us at info@micasameubles.com.
When an account is deleted, personal information associated solely with the operation of the account will be deleted or anonymized where reasonably possible.
Information that Micasa is legally or legitimately required to retain, including certain order, transaction, invoice, payment, fraud-prevention, or accounting records, may remain stored for the required retention period.
Deleting an account does not automatically invalidate or erase records relating to completed commercial transactions that Micasa is legally required to maintain.
15. Third-Party Links and Services
Our website or applications may contain links to third-party websites, applications, social networks, payment services, or other external services.
Micasa is not responsible for the privacy practices of independent third parties. When you access an external service, the privacy policy and terms of that provider may apply.
We encourage users to review the privacy information provided by any third-party service they choose to use.
16. Children’s Privacy
Micasa’s services are intended primarily for customers purchasing furniture, appliances, home products, and related services.
We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children who are not legally permitted to make purchases or create accounts independently.
If we become aware that personal information relating to a child has been collected in circumstances where parental or legal authorization is required, we will take reasonable steps to delete or appropriately restrict that information.
17. Changes to This Privacy Policy
Micasa may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our services, technologies, service providers, legal obligations, or privacy practices.
When significant changes are made, the updated Privacy Policy will be published on our website or made available through our applications.
The date shown at the top of this Privacy Policy indicates when it was last updated.
Continued use of our services after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective is subject to the updated version to the extent permitted by applicable law.
